The movie "School of Rock" concerns a broke musician
who perseveres with his passion to have a successful rock
band. He is forced to take a day job to sustain his dream.
Finally he gets his piece of the action with the hope and
opportunity to expand on his dream.
There isn't enough room at the top for everyone to be a rich
and famous singer, actor, writer, or whatever the profession.
But there is always a way to make a living with your dream,
or at least get your piece of the dream, with the hope for
more to come.
There are thousands of nightclubs that need musicians and
singers. Even more magazines, newspapers, and web sites that
need writers. And every town has a theater group. Rich, can
be accomplished in other ways, but you can always find a way
to get your piece of the dream.
Francis Ford Coppola recently said, "Don't be afraid
to take a risk for your dream. If you give up, you've already
lost it, so why not take a chance. You can't do any worse
than losing it by giving up."
So keep the passion for your dream, as the "School of
Rock" hero does. Get the job that will give you the funds
to sustain your dream. Then put the extra time, work, money,
and skill into getting your piece of the action.
After all, James Bond's best quality is his perseverance.
And whether in the casino, a resort, or golf course he always
gets his piece of the lifestyle.
