ON THE ULTIMATE REFUGE
In Buddhism, there is a rather unique word that translates as "suchness."
It means living truth, here and now, right before our eyes. It has
to do with leaving things just as they are and arrive at a place
free of craving and try resting our weary mind. What I am learning
is that what I am looking for is always right here.
The Coach thinks most of us are usually elsewhere.
ON THE BARD
If you really want to succeed in business, study the masters: Warren
Buffett, Bill Gates and William Shakespeare. Yes, the Master of
the Universe or so says Britain's Cranfield University, which has
teamed up with Shakespeare's Old Globe Theatre and the late Laurence
Olivier's son to offer courses that mine the playwright's works
for advice on climbing the corporate ladder. To weather acts of
betrayal, you might turn to "Julius Caesar." To learn
how best to inspire your team to victory, read "Henry V."
How about "A Winter's Tale" for tips on coping with mid
career changes?
The Coach thinks there is a message here for speakers relate the
stories to your audience's lives.
ON THE BUCKS START HERE
Do you rarely feel that you are getting special service when you
wait on hold, and listen to glaring muzak? It appears that companies
are eager to sell us their stuff, but I don't think they take time
to know what we really want. Happy customers become loyal ones and
in this economic climate with lots of competition from new companies
and the internet, it is crucial to focus on customer retention.
Frederick Reichheld of 'The Loyalty Effect' says the longer a business
keeps a customer, the ore profitable the relationship is because
they learn to do business together efficiently.
The Coach sez it makes good "cents" to make a repeat sale

Here are some words worth repeating.
