Dr. Evoy Gives You His Sales Diagnosis for Web Success!

Always being one that questions the herd mentality, I avoided
reading the flagship media property of e commerce guru and pioneer
Ken Evoy, "Make Your Site Sell!". There are countless
self appointed e commerce gurus in cyberspace, all selling their
info-products via web sites and e books. Many use persuasive but
more commonly tasteless hype and sales copy to try and sell their
goods. Although, I consider myself to be an avid student of e commerce
and e business, I have a tendency to dismiss the promotional noise
so abundant online.
It wasn't until a mentor of mine, John Payne, publisher of the
well respected Web Marketing Ezine, one of the web's top marketing
ezines and web sites, persuaded me to read Make My Site Sell!, did
I decide to make a small investment in money and buy the book. On
the other hand, while Make My Site Sell!, is a small investment
in money at 1600 pages, it is a considerable investment in time.
Therefore, the book must deliver the goods, I thought to myself.
I almost hate to admit, that I am elated and overwhelmed at the
content rich purchase that I obtained once I read this book. His
sage main principles of E commerce success are succinct and poignant:
- develop a great product or service;
- write a web site that sells with deadly effectiveness;
- drive lots of qualified traffic to your site.
Even more essential however, are his constant mantras through out
his " Bible of E business Sales Success", to over-deliver
on your product or service, and to be "customer centric".
His perspective drives home the point that integrity, building trust,
and impeccable customer service are central to e business success.
Ken Evoy, in short, follows his own advice writing a survival and
success guide that "over delivers" on e business development.
Topics such as using email to expand your business, how to write
effective copy, the importance of testimonials and building trust,
and a myriad of crucial issues essential to E business success are
all covered in this e book in PDF format.
Subtle topics are touched upon as well as nuances, in "Make
My Site Sell!", like the differences in how men and women buy,
creating the "most wanted response (MWR)" of a web site,
and creating effective navigation and different e commerce payment
systems. One of the great value added benefits of reading Dr. Evoy's
e book (benefits that other reviewers of the book don't comment
on), is being informed about countless resources that he refers
to in his digital publication. Many of his resources directly point
to web applications that give entrepreneurs the ability to do research
on their web business sectors and competitors. Other web apps mentioned
give great general resources for finding products to sell on-line.
I consider myself a fairly knowledgeable person of web resources
for business. Nevertheless, I found myself amazed at the bounty
of numerous resources and web apps that I am now aware of to increase
my e business.
A startup or small business person could use all the resources
and info in "Make My Site Sell!", to really give them
a competitive advantage in jump starting their e business. What
is really nice is that all these resources and E business directives
can be obtained for such a small investment. Since many of your
competitors still expect everything to be free on-line, you should
spend a little cash and really learn to do e business the right
way.
With all its contained resources - brilliance - and e commerce
instruction, "Make My Site Sell!, is not a perfect e book product.
Many of the graphics are too blurry, and you may strain your eyes
to see some illustrations. I feel the section on controlling your
sites navigation to create sales paths with dead end side branching
could use more examples or analogies.
Neither could I keep up with the new terms and their acronyms through
out the book. Furthermore, Dr. Evoy doesn't fully explain how visually
intensive e commerce sites (like art or fashion sites) can create
fast downloading sites, or how slower download speeds can be over
come to deliver sales. His insights should have been included on
this since he is such a stickler on this Issue.
However, "Make My Site Sell!", without a doubt, is the
best e book value on the art and science of e commerce success.
It contains 3 major sections on E commerce selling, creating a high
traffic site, and also an indispensable section on running a multi-product
e commerce store. If you could only afford one book on e commerce
I would suggest this one without reservation.
I am giving "Make My Site Sell!", my highest Editor's
choice recommendation. I wish I had read such an enlightening book
on e commerce 3 years ago.
